Day 1

Welcome to Mallorca! On your arrival, be met at the airport and transported to your home for the next four nights – the elegant Son Brull hotel, family-run and famed in Mallorca for its peaceful yet stylish atmosphere.

Settle into your magnificent Villa Suite, which has its own leafy garden and private pool. Relax in privacy or head up to the hotel’s main pool for a sunbathe or savour a drink from the hotel bar, located in an 18th century olive mill.

At 6pm, you will meet Mar, the founder of Foodie Cycling for introductions and cocktails. If you’re interested Mar can tell you all about the hotel and its history – after all her family have owned it for 30 years.

She’ll also fill you in on the details for your bike ride in the morning including decisions on bike type, equipment and meeting point for the first part of your guided cycle.

Later, enjoy an informal Mediterranean meal at the hotel’s al fresco Bistro Terrace, under the stars and accompanied by the gentle soundtrack of cicadas.

Day 2

Today starts promptly as you will meet your guide at 9am, to set you up safely on your bikes and take you on a guided, warm-up loop to the pretty town of Alcúdia, whose old town is well preserved with houses dating back to the 13th century, surrounded by a medieval wall.

Inhabited since the Bronze Age, Alcúdia was really put on the map when the Romans arrived in 123 BC, today you can wander the famous Roman city of Pollentia, founded by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Balearicu.

Pollentia was a rich and prosperous city, admire the excavations which reveal the former city forum, tabernae and theatre.

Lunch can either take place at La Victoria, which has a spectacular view over to the Bay of Pollensa with a traditional menu of Mallorcan dishes or a paella or else you can cycle along the coast to have lunch at a casual ‘Chiringuito’ which is the name we give to informal restaurants that are right on the beach.

This leads nicely into an afternoon on the beach, swimming in the clear sea. On your return we’d recommended stopping in Puerto Pollensa for a locally made ice cream at Can Butxaca.

Back at Son Brull, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, perhaps book in for a massage or relax under a shady tree with a good book.

Day 3

Today, you’ll set sail to enjoy a glorious day at sea, exploring the magnificent north coast of Mallorca.

The hotel will arrange your transfer to the port and will send you on your way with a delicious picnic and cold drinks which you can enjoy onboard.

Your skipper will be in charge, showing you some of Mallorca’s hidden coves, far from the crowds where you can dive straight into crystal clear water.

The boat is also fully equipped with paddle boards and snorkels for the family to have fun with. Equally, sun loungers and the large solarium onboard are nice spots for a sunbathe.

Returning to the hotel, take advantage of the facilities with a game of tennis, spa treatment or simply dolce far niente by the pool. For dinner, we’ll arrange for you to head in the town of Pollença.

Take your time to enjoy the atmospheric, warm evening, strolling the cobbled streets, browsing little craft shops.

Walk to up the Calvario steps to the top for an incredible view of the town before dinner where we will make reservations for you at an excellent tapas dinner, Can Mir where you can enjoy a plethora of small dishes including octopus, cured cheese, anchovies and padron peppers.

Day 4

Today you’ll be back in the saddle for a magical bicycle ride to Formentor, the most northerly point of the island, which offers you incredible views.

It is a challenging ride, so we recommend an early start before the heat of the day and to be able to enjoy the panorama when it’s not busy.

The Cap Formentor Lighthouse route is known for testing endurance but it’s certainly worth it, some describe it as the best ride on the island – be ready for some challenging climbs and thrilling descents.

The views along the way are just breathtaking, one after another, ending with a dramatic climb up and over Cap Formentor to the lighthouse, built in 1892.

As this is a such an energetic ride, we will lend our support vehicle to go alongside as you ride, giving you the option to split the ride by family member or simply take a break if you need to.

By lunchtime, you’ll be hungry and deserve a wonderful freshly caught fish lunch at Puerto Pollença, right by the marina where the fishermen dock their little laüt boats, which are the classic wooden Mallorcan fishing vessel.

Back at the hotel, enjoy a relaxed afternoon perhaps by the pool or in a hammock having a well-deserved siesta. In the evening, we will arrange your farewell dinner in Son Brull’s eponymous 365 fine dining restaurant, where you will savour tasting menus created with seasonal fresh products from the hotel’s orchard and the local area, a wonderful meal in an atmospheric setting, the perfect finale to your cycling adventure in Mallorca.
