Day 1

You’ll be welcomed to Mallorca from the moment you land at the airport and a private transfer will whisk you up to Alaró, in the centre of Mallorca, where you’ll check into your exclusive-hire farmhouse or hilltop house, depending on your group size.

Mar, the founder of Foodie Cycling and font of knowledge of all things Mallorca will meet you and together with a cocktail or two you can discuss your upcoming trip and finesse the itinerary that Mar has created especially for you.

You’ll also be kitted out with your equipment including your bike and fixing. You will have a chance to test out your wheels on a warm-up ride around Alaró, a 35-kilometre loop which will introduce to the surrounding valley, just south of the Tramuntana mountains.

Come evening, you will gather in the kitchen for a homemade meal cooked by a local chef. Feed up – tomorrow’s ride will be a good one!

Day 2

Today you’ll be up and out promptly. Your cycle ride will be 87 kilometres with an elevation of 850 metres, setting out from Alaró on the Randa loop. In the morning you’ll head steadily uphill, with stunning island views as the road winds through steep stretches.

Your reward as you reach the top of Randa mountain is a truly authentic Mallorcan restaurant, where simple, local and traditional food is served for lunch.

After you have refuelled, we recommend stopping at the Ribas winery in Consell, this family owned and run winery is one of the oldest on the island, with a real tradition in making some of the top wines on the island.

Sample some wines and learn more about the wine-producing customs at this vineyard. If you find something you like, we can arrange for wine to be shipped home for you – a little taste of Mallorca for your return.

The afternoon is for your group to spend at leisure – maybe some of you may choose to relax by the pool at the house, hike the surroundings, visit the orchard or we can arrange a horse-ride around the countryside.

In the evening, gather together and share stories from the day as we organise a delicious BBQ with local meats and salads. Sit under the stars and relish the quiet solace of your environment.

Day 3

Epic day. For your cycle today, you will be heading into the World Heritage Site, Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, with an elevation of 1181m and a total cycling distance of 74km.

Although there is ground to cover, we will take a slow pace with plenty of time to stop and enjoy local way-of-life in the plazas of the mountain villages.

You will be climbing the Coll d’en Claret, enjoying the magnificent countryside and the village of Esporlas, with its cafes, square and characterful narrow streets.

We will stop in Valldemossa, here the famous coca de patata (potato dough) are made, a must with a café con leche or a hot chocolate – follow the locals and dip the pastry into your drink – delicious!

Continue towards forest-backed Bunyola and back to Alaró where a wonderful picnic awaits you for lunch at a surprise location.

Relax for the rest of the day and look forward to your last evening, where an oenophile will come to give you a tasting of local wines and you’ll be privy to one of Mar’s fantastic homemade paellas! A night you won’t forget.

Day 4

Sadly, today is departure day, with private transfers back to the airport.

Pass by the mountains that have accompanied you on this special cycling trip with your friends in Mallorca.

If you’re interested in extending your stay, either with your friends or without, speak to Mar about having a few days shopping and sightseeing in Palma or perhaps a day at sea with a skipper, exploring Mallorca’s famous coastline.
