Day 1: Welcome to Catalonia!

Welcome to Catalonia!

Arriving at Barcelona airport, make your way to your hotel of your choice in this incredible city or directly to our meeting point, in case you arrive the same day the tour starts. Once the group has gathered, we will transfer to Castelló d’Empuries, our home for the next two nights. We will go over the week’s logistics and options with an aperitivo followed by dinner.

Day 2: The Allure of Cadaqués

Today’s route promises breathtaking coastal views on our way to Cadaqués, a picturesque coastal town beloved by painters like Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso where we’ll explore its quaint, winding alleys and stop for a coffee break. We will continue our scenic journey to Port de Selva, where a seaside lunch awaits. You can opt for the morning challenge of conquering rugged Cap de Creus and consider climbing to the majestic medieval Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes in the afternoon. In the evening, we will visit Peralada, one of the most illustrious and storied wineries in the area.

Day 3: Medieval Heritage

Savor a captivating day of cycling by the enchanting landscapes of Empordà as you pedal through idyllic medieval villages and lush countryside. As you arrive at Gala’s Castle in Pubol, soak in the surrealism-inspired ambiance of this historical gem, once home to Salvador Dalí and his muse Gala. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in the charming village of Monells, known for its cobbled streets and traditional Catalan cuisine. We’ll relish our splendid accommodation for the next two nights at the magnificent Mas de Torrent hotel. This day offers a perfect blend of cycling, cultural exploration, and culinary delights in the heart of Catalonia.

Day 4: Coastal Splendor

The journey continues with a charming rural route, featuring an ascent to La Ganga, located within a nature reserve in the Catalan Coastal Range. Then, you’ll follow a bike path to Palamós, an inviting harbor town ideal for a coffee break. As you pedal along the coast, you’ll pass elegant residences nestled amid tree-covered hills. In the picturesque fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, relish Catalan cuisine at a restaurant offering scenic views. Unwind on the beach or take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. Later, return to the hotel for relaxation or spa indulgence, or, for the adventurous, opt for the uphill challenge to Begur.

Day 5: Iconic Catalan History

We’ll bid farewell to the stunning Costa Brava as we set our sights on the captivating wine region of Priorat, promising an exciting change of scenery and unforgettable experiences. Not only will we immerse ourselves in the breathtaking landscapes of Priorat, pedaling through the picturesque vineyard-covered hills and savoring the essence of this renowned wine region, but we will also visit Poblet and Escaladei, two iconic monastic sites, integral to Catalan history, preserving centuries of religious, cultural, and architectural heritage. Today’s journey is incredibly rich in cultural and natural beauty.

Sweet – Prades lunch route. 20 km Elevation 700m
Salty – Escaladei route. 55 km. Elevation 1100 m
Spicy – Arbolí Challenge. 70 km. Elevation 1500 m.

* Transfer: 2h30 shuttle in the morning from Torrent to Poblet

Day 6: Priorat Wine Country

Today we will experience a captivating riding day in Priorat as you explore Falset and Gratallops. This journey takes you deep into the heart of Catalan wine culture, where you’ll pedal through picturesque vineyards, visit historic wineries, and indulge in the rich flavors of this renowned wine region. As an option, conquer the challenging climb to Siurana, known for its breathtaking vistas overlooking Priorat’s renowned vineyards. It’s a day filled with scenic beauty, making it an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts and cyclists alike.

Sweet – Falset Lunch Route. 39 km. Elevation 1000m
Salty – Priorat Loop. 58 km. Elevation 1500 m
Spicy – Siurana Challenge. 73 km. Elevation 1900 m

Day 7: Adéu, Catalunya!

For our final ride we will enjoy the tranquil roads around Priorat as we pedal through La Vilella Baixa’s terraced vineyards and mountainous backdrop. A picturesque Catalan gem to finalize our week in this wonderful region. After lunch, a transfer will take you to Barcelona airport
