Some of my cyclists like to take Mallorca at their own speed, without a guide. This is perfectly doable and certainly suits some groups or couples better, especially if you’re already an independent traveller and are confident riding and navigating on your own. Although without a guide, you will still benefit from my in-depth itineraries which I’ll craft especially for you including any stops plus my recommendations for places to stay and eat.

How Does it Work?

Before you have arrived in Mallorca, I will curate your itinerary to your liking with input from you. This means that the cycling holiday is entirely yours to enjoy, and I can populate it with your favourite things to do including stopping at wineries, shopping or lunches on the beach. I then give your route on GPX for you to follow on your phone, onto which I’ve added interesting stops for coffee, lunch or a cold drink. You can follow this at your own pace, savouring the freedom of the open Mallorcan road.

What If I Need to Get in Touch?

That’s the easy part. As I live on the island, I’m only ever a call or text away. I will meet you personally  on arrival to introduce myself and I like to check in with you every day to ensure you’re happy and enjoying the day or if there’s anything else I can do to make the trip even better. It also means if you’re having an ‘off’ day or feel like slowing down the pace (or even speeding up!), I can adjust or alter your route to suit you. It’s also for your peace of mind that I’m always here should you need me for any reason.

Do I Have to Be An Experienced Rider to do a Self-Guided Tour?

I would say no to this, as you will have me at your disposal at a moment’s notice if you wanted to cut short a ride, or if it’s a particularly hot day, and ebikes are also available!. The advantages of a self-guided tour, whatever your ability, is that you have more freedom and privacy. So perhaps if you were a couple celebrating a special anniversary this may suit you; equally if you enjoy being an independent traveller, a self-guided tour means you can be your own master, stopping when and where you want. The sense of satisfaction is perhaps greater too, doing a cycling trip on your own steam.

Where Will I Stay?

As with all my itineraries I will match you with your ideal property which will be perfectly placed as part of your cycling trip around the island of Mallorca. As I have lived on the island my whole life, I instinctively know which Mallorcan hotel or villa suits who, whether you’re a family, group of friends or couple. Not only that, I can book the best rooms in each hotel – for example with a lovely sea-view terrace or clasped in the greenery of a private garden. I take care of all the logistics too like arranging for your luggage to be taken from one hotel to another while you ride, and I will book dinner reservations and those lovely extras like spa treatments which you will appreciate even more after a hard day’s riding.
